Summary of Primary Functions: Coordinates, plans, and supervises in the Maintenance Shop to ensure that preventative maintenance is performed on plant equipment. Repairs machinery, plant utilities (electrical, plumbing, etc.) and company owned trailers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: All employees are required to follow all Safety and Quality rules and processes to ensure a safe working environment, and the production of high-quality products.

  • Assign preventative maintenance duties to Maintenance Mechanics Class A & B.
  • Assign equipment repair requests to Maintenance Mechanics Class A & B.
  • Coordinate preventative maintenance and repair schedules for company owned trailers.
  • Respond to requests by BDS Foremen for emergency repairs to equipment (flat tires, electrical problems, etc.).
  • Inspect machinery and equipment to ensure compliance with company safety rules and OSHA regulations.
  • Plan, supervise, and complete special projects as requested b Plant Manager or Maintenance Shop Manager.
  • Inspect and repair plumbing fixtures, electrical wire, and heating/air conditioning units.
  • Contact vendors or sales representatives for emergency replacement of critical machinery parts.

Job Specifications or Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience: High School Diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
