Job Description

This position is responsible for planning, directing, and managing the organization's technology functions supporting Individual Division business systems and applications for sales and distribution. Ensure delivery of cost-effective outcomes by applying people, process, and technology levers to meet business goals, strategies, and objectives.

Focus on enhancing the overall producer experience and distribution expansion. Build teams skilled in delivering API first, cloud native solutions, leveraging AI and automation throughout the software development lifecycle. This role will collaborate across the organization, including close partnership with business stakeholders and external vendor relationships ensuring the success of the function(s).

This is a hybrid role working partially in-office (Lincoln, NE) and partially from home. Relocation assistance is available for those willing to move to Lincoln, NE.

What you do:

• Set the strategic direction and drive execution for the technology platforms advancing the ease of doing business with Ameritas and accelerating growth.
• Build and cultivate internal and external stakeholder relationships to promote and grow the business while focusing on how technology can enhance business growth.
• Drive, enable, and deliver on technology strategy, with accountability towards the expectations of being an officer of the company.
• Monitor and analyze the industry, InsurTech, and market trends in emerging distribution/agent facing technology to inform enterprise application development strategy and keep the organization ahead of competitive and market shifts.
• Analyze and foresee problems and plan solutions to incorporate future impacts. Operate as an enterprise-level strategic partner, aligning cross-division initiatives and driving shared outcomes with leaders across the business.
• Plan and organize the work of associates & management for their function area(s). Manage and lead a team of technology professionals, fostering an environment of collaboration, growth, and continuous improvement.
• Be an enterprise steward; partner with leaders throughout the organization on cross-division initiatives. Collaborate with other functional areas to identify technology needs and ensure smooth integration of systems across the organization.
• Implement strategic cost management initiatives to optimize technology investments and personnel resources, ensuring efficient operations and sustainable growth. Develop and monitor technology budgets, ensuring optimal allocation of technology resources and improve cost-effectiveness.
• Define, manage to, and provide insights on objectives & key results to monitor progress towards key initiatives and daily work of your functional areas using metrics and measures.
• Promote a culture of innovation and creativity, encouraging the team to explore new technologies and solutions to continuously improve. Direct and influence associate and business resources to deliver measurable business results and improve the agent/producer/customer experience.
• Manage and negotiate vendor contracts and external vendor relationships.

What you bring:

• Bachelor degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
• 7-10 years of related information technology experience required.
• 4-7 years of supervisory or management experience required.
• Experience with insurance industry I.T. leadership strongly desired.
• Experience with insurance industry distribution channels, agency partnerships, and associated agent facing technology strongly desired.
• Experience with API first and cloud native development desired.
• Experience with AI automation desired.

About this Position's Pay

The pay range posted reflects a nationwide minimum to maximum covering all potential locations where the position may be filled. The final determination on pay for any position will be based on multiple factors including role, career level, work location, skill set, and candidate level of experience to ensure pay equity within the organization. This position will be eligible to participate in our comprehensive benefits package (see above for details). This position will be eligible to participate in our Short-Term Incentive Plan with the annual target defined by the plan.
