Job

The role of a 2nd shift Warehouse Manager is to lead and manage the picking and staging teams who are picking all inventory needed for the next day's activity. Ensures quality control checks are performed on outbound items to provide the best possible inventory to our clients; manages the download inspection teams to inspect all returning items to return those that are in showroom condition back to an available status by storing them safely in their respective bin locations, and addressing the deficiencies in less than desirable items.

This position is designed for long-term growth within a rapidly scaling organization.

The salary range for this position is $80,000–$95,000, commensurate with experience.

2nd shift hours between 2pm-10:30pm.

General Responsibilities

  • Arrive at the work area by the scheduled start time and maintain punctuality.
  • Demonstrate a positive and professional attitude at all times.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
  • Support the ongoing cleanliness, organization, and upkeep of the warehouse.
  • Provide assistance to colleagues as needed to ensure smooth operations.
  • Communicate effectively with management regarding time-off requests and workplace challenges.
  • Complete other assignments and tasks as directed by management.

Essential Functions

  • Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with OSHA standards and local fire and safety regulations.
  • Promote a culture of safety by leading and participating in weekly safety meetings with team members.
  • Review monthly equipment maintenance reports to ensure all warehouse equipment is operating correctly.
  • Supervise team members during loading and unloading of trucks/containers, ensuring safe handling of boxes, packages, and supplies in accordance with company standards.
  • Oversee warehouse projects to maintain products in a clean, organized, and safe manner.
  • Conduct quality inspections on work performed by team members.
  • Manage the training and cross-training of personnel in all warehouse procedures.
  • Conduct new hire orientations to ensure smooth onboarding.
  • Develop labor plans and schedules to optimize workforce efficiency.
  • Drive departmental initiatives to enhance productivity and deliver high-quality customer service, utilizing key metrics to measure performance.
  • Implement new strategies and operational improvements to increase efficiency.
  • Conduct performance reviews and administer coaching or counseling sessions as needed.
  • Assist management in maintaining accurate inventory, ensuring that WMS records match physical item locations and conditions.
  • Identify and implement cost reduction strategies through effective processes, procedures, and leadership.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum of 1 year of warehouse management or supervisory experience
  • Experience with furniture, home furnishings, or large-item logistics preferred
  • Familiarity with WMS systems and inventory control processes
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
