Position Summary
The 2nd Shift Team Leader is responsible for supporting daily production activities on 2nd shift, ensuring team members are aligned, production goals are met, and quality standards are maintained. This role serves as a hands-on leader on the floor, helping drive accountability, communication, and efficiency across the shift.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Supports daily production activities to meet quality, delivery, and productivity targets
- Acts as a point of contact for operators on 2nd shift, providing guidance, direction, and support as needed
- Reinforces company policies, procedures, and expectations, including ESD, safety, and attendance
- Helps maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Communicates shift goals, priorities, and updates to the team at the start of shift
- Monitors workflow and helps ensure proper job assignments and coverage across work areas
- Escalates production, quality, or personnel issues to the Supervisor/Manager as needed
- Supports training of new employees and reinforces standard work and best practices
- Works cross-functionally with Quality, Engineering, and Production Control to keep production on track
- Assists with tracking daily output, downtime, and any issues impacting performance
- Helps identify opportunities for process improvement and supports continuous improvement initiatives

QualificationsEducation and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or associate degree a plus
- 2–4 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
- Previous lead or informal leadership experience preferred
- Experience in electronics manufacturing (SMT, assembly, etc.) a plus
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, ERP/MES systems preferred)

- Frequent standing, walking, and movement throughout the production floor
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally
- Requires use of hands, arms, and vision for detailed work and inspections
