Job Description

The Shift Production Supervisor is responsible for coordinating and assigning the activities of production workers, ensuring that production targets are met, maintaining quality standards, and driving P&L results. This position supervises production operations within an assigned areas or during assigned shifts.

2nd Shift 3:00PM - 11:30PM, Monday - Friday

Responsibilities:

  • Supervises workers who operate production machinery, assemble items, perform quality checks, or package products for shipment.
  • Assigns tasks for the day, provides support with production challenges, and looks for ways to improve operations.
  • Supports the team in meeting or exceeding daily Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) through accurate reporting that aligns with or surpasses customer expectations.
  • Delivers clear and concise information during shift transition meetings, ensuring the next shift is prepared for success.
  • Provides first level of support for any escalated issue during work shift.
  • Maintains consistent production quality by monitoring departmental performance metrics.
  • Communicates effectively with management and customers to ensure SLAs are met and issues are promptly resolved.
  • Engages in employee relations initiatives by promptly addressing employee concerns and assisting HR and Managers with administering disciplinary actions to direct labor team members.
  • Monitors the accuracy and timely completion of employee timecards by reviewing submissions, correcting errors, and working with team members to resolve discrepancies in accordance with company policies.
  • Assists with temporary labor compliance by escalating attendance, conduct, and performance issues through the appropriate channels.
  • Contributes to a positive work environment by fostering open communication, promoting mutual respect, and supporting team collaboration.
  • Assists in P&L forecasting and analysis, alongside labor planning and scheduling.
  • Prepares and delivers daily performance feedback and reporting as required.
  • Coordinates workflow and ensures supplies and materials are available to meet demand.
  • Provides training, motivation, and support to employees regarding company procedures, development opportunities, and departmental processes.
  • Ensures compliance with health and safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards to maintain a safe working environment for employees and visitors.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned, based on the needs of the business the warehouse supports.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum of 1 year of leadership experience, materials/distribution environment is preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and decision-making skills with a focus on achieving results and fostering continuous improvement.
  • Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficient leadership and interpersonal abilities, demonstrating effective verbal and written communication.
  • Capacity to engage with customers in a professional manner.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and general computer use.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Previous experience working in a high-volume distribution, manufacturing, technical service (i.e. testing and repair) or forward logistics operation a plus.
  • Supervising temporary staff.
  • Experience working with UKG.
  • General knowledge of OSHA Standards.

Educational Requirements:

  • Associate degree preferred or equivalent work experience
