Inventory Control Supervisor - Distribution Center
Hours: 3rd shift- Wednesday - Friday 5:00 PM-5:30 AM 

General Summary:
 
This person reports to the ICC Department Manager andis responsible forthe Inventory Control operations on their shift.  Supervise up to 10 associates.  Oversee the direction, coordination, and evaluation of Inventory Control workflows.  Evaluate workflow trends and inform the management team of potential risks, issues arising and concernsregardinginventory control processes.  Partner with management to develop action plans that promote inventory accuracy through continuous process improvements, foster bestpracticesand achieve the Distribution Center and Family Dollar initiatives and goals.  

 Principal Duties & Responsibilities: 

Ensure compliance with established Distribution Center policies and procedures.

Analyzereports measuringthe effectiveness of the Distribution Center.

Coordinate communication with Corporate Office, Stores and Distribution Center Management to providetimelysolutions to inventory issues.

Periodically audit department processes to include Receiving, Storage, Forklift, Shipping,Bulkand Repack.

Organizes Inventory Control functions and instructs Team Members in inventory and systemprocesses,effectively.

Processes all merchandise returns tovendor

Direct the scheduling and ensure performance of inventory cycle counts and physical inventories.

Determinethe plan for the storage of all inventoryproductusingCatalyst drivendata and statistical reports to maximize pick and reserve location productivity.

Partner with Damaged/Returns area to ensure that product is creditedin a timely mannerand managed effectively.

Provide necessary leadership to ensure the Distribution Center compliancetoquality requirements.

Position Requirements
Education: High school preferred.
Experience: Four to sixmonthsclerical or similar work experience in a Retail Distribution or Warehouse environment is preferred.Mustbe able todemonstratebasic Word, Excel,Outlookand Windows. Working knowledge of WMSpreferred
Physical Requirements: Able to perform essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation. These tasks require the ability to frequentlylift upto 10 pounds, occasionallylift upto 50poundsand rarely up to 60 pounds. The Team Member should haveadequatefitnesslevelto meet the demands of frequent lifting, walking, standing, moderate climbing of stairs, occasional sitting,stoopingand kneeling with or without reasonable accommodation. Team Member willbe requiredto use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) per Distribution Center requirements.
Working Conditions: Team Member will work in a non-climate controlledDistribution or Warehouse atmosphere, in which outside weather conditionsgreatly affectthe building’s temperature. Team Member may also be exposed to moving mechanical parts or equipment, fumes and airborne particles as regulated by OSHA.
Availability: Team Member will perform shift work and must be willing to work overtime,weekendsand/or holidays.

Minimum Requirements:
High School, GED
Education:
1-3yearssupervisory experience in a distribution,transportationor warehouse environment.

Experience: 
Basic computer skills (MS Office, Windows). Ability to create and manipulate reports (Excel). Ability to learn RETEK. Computer Skills
