Job Description

Turn Your HM183 Ticket Into a Career, Not Just a Paycheck

If you’re an HM183-qualified mechanic working out in the Pasadena heat, fighting to find tools, or stuck on a crew that doesn’t respect your craft — read this one carefully.

Altom Transport is hiring an experienced 2nd Shift HM183 Cargo Tank Mechanic at our Pasadena, TX shop. You’ll be working indoors, on well-maintained equipment, with the tools and parts you actually need to do the job right the first time. We treat our mechanics like the specialists they are — because in the liquid bulk world, you’re the reason the wheels keep turning.

Why Altom

Altom Transport is a third-generation, family-owned specialized carrier of Liquid Bulk Products serving the U.S. and Canada. We’ve built our reputation on safety, equipment, and people — in that order — and we know our mechanics are at the heart of all three.

At our Pasadena shop, you’ll find:

  • A climate-controlled bay — no chasing leaks in 98° humidity
  • Top-shelf diagnostic equipment and modern lifts
  • A parts room that’s actually stocked
  • A crew that respects HM183 work and the time it takes to do it right
  • Stable, predictable hours — no forced weekends, no last-minute call-outs

  • Ability to read and interpret DOT regulations, OEM service manuals, and electrical/hydraulic schematics

  • Own basic hand tools (we supply specialty tools, lifts, and diagnostic equipment)
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen, physical, and background check
  • Authorized to work in the United States
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces
