Georgia-Pacific is looking for safety-oriented individuals to join our team as a 2nd shift Forklift Operator in our Asheboro, NC Facility.


Salary:

  • $22.55 per hour
  • 2nd shift differential is $2.00 per hour
  • You will have the ability to increase your compensation based on skills and contribution to the overall performance of the plant.


Shift:

  • Candidates must be flexible and available to work first, second, or third shift as needed. This will include overtime, holidays, and weekends.
  • Currently hiring for 2nd shift.
  • Orientation will be on 1st shift (7am-3pm), and you will be assigned your permanent 2nd shift after your orientation and training.


Shift Hours:

  • 1st shift: Monday – Friday 7am-3pm; weekends and overtime as needed
  • 2nd shift: Monday – Friday 3pm-11pm; weekends and overtime as needed
  • 3rd shift: Monday – Friday 11pm-7am; weekends and overtime as needed



What You Will Do

  • Operate a sit-down forklift to load and unload trailers while keeping accurate shipment record
  • Safely operate a 10,000 lb. sit-down forklift to load and unload trailers
  • Ensure loads are properly secured and in good condition
  • Ensure accurate record keeping for all inbound and outbound shipments
  • Adhere to all plant safety and environmental guidelines, policies, and procedures
  • Perform general housekeeping duties to keep work areas clean and free of safety hazards
  • Pull whip and raw material for production support
  • Verify receipts, load sheets, and other required paperwork
  • Perform tasks such as lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing and/or pulling for at least 8 hours a day


Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • One (1) year or more experience operating a sit-down forklift in a shipping and receiving, loading, production, or manufacturing environment
  • Experience using computers/tablets

  • Experience working in the corrugated industry


For this role, we anticipate paying $22.55per hour. This role is eligible for an additional $2.00 per hour while working on 2nd shift.
