2nd Shift Electronic Test Technician

Your main responsibilities

Performs a variety of electronic, mechanical and electro-mechanical tests on electronic systems, subassemblies, printed circuit boards, and parts to ensure unit functions according to specifications or to determine cause of unit failure using full range of electronic test instruments.

  • Read test schedule, work orders, wiring diagrams, schematics, data sheets, C.O.E., test manuals, performance specifications to ascertain testing procedure and equipment to be used.
  • Connect units to be tested to equipment and instruments such as wave tek generator, various test stands and/or fixtures, hi-pot tester, ohmmeter, voltmeter, ammeter, resistance bridge, oscilloscope, Genrad and Zehntel.
  • Understand dials that indicate electronic characteristics, such as voltage, frequency, distortion induction and capacitance.
  • Trace circuits of defective units, using knowledge of electronic theory and electronic test equipment to locate defects, such as shorts, or faulty components.
  • Replace defective wiring and components, using hand tools and soldering iron or records defects on tag attached to unit and returns it to production department for repair.
  • Perform functional tests of systems, subassemblies and parts under complete operating sequence from diagrams and test specifications.
  • Examine unit visually for physical defects, such as broken wire, excess solder, soldering connections and any lodged foreign matter.
  • Record type and quantity of defects for record purposes. Issues defect reports as required.
  • Assist in other testing assignments equal to or less than the scope of this description.
  • Conduct audits to ensure compliance to the drawing and specification requirements.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on electronic control and mechanical equipment.

What you bring

  • Two years of technical training in electronic technology
  • High school diploma or GED
  • MUST BE ABLE TO WORK 2ND SHIFT.
