2nd shift Casepacker (Mon.-Thurs.)8pm-6:30am

Set up and operate the line in order to produce product that meets quality specifications; maintain the machine systems; make necessary adjustments; and troubleshoot common machine/quality problems. Must have skills to optimize run time. Very motivated, organized, and excellent communication skills. The ideal candidate will require minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities

· Troubleshoot common machine/quality problems and make necessary mechanical adjustments to the correct problems.· Operate equipment at optimum efficiency.· Ensure proper inner cartons are being used for product being run.· Check for bad inner cartons and informs supervisor if more than a few.· Check glue pattern on inner carton for proper amount and location.· Clean glue buildups as needed.· Adjust tucker assembly.· Perform brand, size and metal changes in an efficient manner.· Inspects inner cartons coming down compression line for quality product.· Load inner cartons.· Change date codes and understands date code system. Verifies correct date code and UPC on innercartons and shipping cases.· Monitor carton quality to ensure boxes are square, sealed and flaps are glued straight.· Perform quality checks at least once per hour and completes quality check sheets.· Clear any jams.· Open damaged boxes and repacks acceptable rolls. Does not repack rolls that have end damage or damaged tails. Processes scrap in a timely manner.· Fill glue pot. · Stack off or backlog (if machine is malfunctioning) so that product may be handpacked later.

• Inform material handler before innercartons or master cartons are required at the line, so that cartons will be at the line when needed.
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of line to GMP standards by removing cartons and other trash, removing dust and debris, etc.
• Load shipping cases. Monitor in-feed line for box quality.
• Clear damaged boxes from casepacker.
• Complete production report.
• Troubleshoot minor quality and machine problems; communicate more complex problems to maintenance.
• Assist with changeovers and order changes whenever possible.
• Understand and follow production schedule.
• Identify and correctly complete form to provide info needed on substandard product or raw materials.
• Ability to train new employees.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

• Able to and willingly operates all cartoners and case packers at established average efficiency level of 90%.
• Ability to lift 35 lbs
• Ability to stand ten hours (twelve during busy season) and walk up and down steps
• High school diploma or GED required
• 3-5 years manufacturing experience
