Job Description

POSITION HIRING FOR: LEVEL 3 ADVANCED WELDER

LOCATION: Muscatine, IA

SHIFT: 2nd

In this position, you will primarily weld metal components together to fabricate or repair parts and/or products according to blue prints, company specifications and work schedules.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Read and follow schedules in order to weld appropriate parts or product, while following standard work processes and adhering to all quality standards and safety rules.
  • Check inventory (wires, gas cylinder, etc) as required to perform job and replenish when necessary.
  • Maintain a work pace that supports production goals.
  • Perform quality checks and product testing according to standard work.
  • Perform TPM procedures as required on specified equipment, maintain clean work area and follow 6S guidelines.
  • Perform rework of part or product as necessary to maintain quality standards and customer requirements.
  • Follow standard work for Welder classification; suggest and document improvements to standard work.
  • Member will be expected to maintain flexibility and will occasionally perform other roles in Level 3, Level 2, and Level 1,
  • Member may be required to train others in Level 3, Level 2, and/or Level 1 roles per the Member Training Program
  • Must become a product expert and maintain a high level of craftsmanship.
  • Participate in activities as appropriate to ensure the success of the organization.

Work Environment/ Physical Conditions:

  • Dust, fumes and noise are commonplace
  • Seasonal fluctuations in temperatures and humidity are expected
  • Stand and/or work for up to 10-hours per day
  • Lift and carry up to 40lbs on a continuous basis

WHAT IT TAKES

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • As an Advanced Welder, you must have working knowledge of MIG, TIG, brazing, arc and/or robotic welding and equipment.
  • Will work under minimal supervision and at times minimal direction.
  • Ability to read, understand, and execute to standard work
  • Ability to take direction, as well as, direct or delegate to others
  • Ability to work both as part of a team and independently as needed
  • Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability, while maintaining a positive attitude and approach
  • Ability to perform high volume repetitive type work
  • Ability to demonstrate problem solving skills through root cause analysis
  • Ability to pass a welding test, if required.

Experience Needed:

  • HNI experience or prior experience as a Welder is required
  • Consistent work history and dependability
  • Proven history of strong work performance

Education and/or Required Training:

  • No prior education or training is required,
  • Welding certification preferred but not required.
