About the Centre for Global Health, and the Faculty of Health Sciences
The Centre for Global Health at the University of Southern Denmark is an interdisciplinary hub within the Departments of Clinical Research and Public Health. Our team of expert global health researchers and academic staff is dedicated to advancing scientific knowledge and developing effective solutions to pressing global health challenges.
Through strong partnerships with associations and communities, we facilitate the exchange of knowledge that is essential to addressing complex health issues. We are also committed to generating new evidence, filling critical knowledge gaps and supporting early-career researchers to build the next generation of global health leaders.
Our approach brings together experts across disciplines, regions and locations to develop evidence-based recommendations that inform global health policy. Although our researchers are based in different cities across Denmark and even internationally, a deep commitment to health equity unites our team and drives our shared mission to improve global health outcomes worldwide.
The Faculty of Health Sciences (SUND) consists of a total of eight departments that conduct research in public health and selected diseases that burden the population, the individual citizen, and society. The faculty also offers a wide range of health science education programs and communicates research results to the public, health professionals, and decision-makers.
In 2023, the majority of SUND moved into a modern faculty building of 50,000 m² in Odense, where research, teaching, and administration are gathered under one roof. The building is directly connected to the upcoming Odense University Hospital, creating unique opportunities for collaboration across disciplines and functions.
The faculty also has activities on campus in Esbjerg and at the National Institute of Public Health on campus in Copenhagen.
