Job Description

The HINATH:AFS-Assistant Coach, Boys Football, Exempt position is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the success of the Hinkley High School football program. As an assistant coach, you will work closely with the Head Coach, supporting the day-to-day operations and overall development of the team. This role is integral to the growth and achievement of our student-athletes, providing them with the necessary skills and mentorship to excel on and off the field.
  • Assist the Head Coach in developing and implementing effective game strategies and tactics.
  • Organize and conduct practice sessions, ensuring a structured and disciplined environment.
  • Mentor and guide student-athletes, fostering their athletic and personal growth.
  • Collaborate with the coaching staff to create a positive and inclusive team culture.
  • Monitor and assess player performance, providing constructive feedback and individual development plans.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of athletes during practices and games.
  • Assist in recruiting and evaluating potential football players for the program.
  • Attend meetings, workshops, and conferences to stay updated on coaching techniques and rules.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation as required by the school and athletic department.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Head Coach or Athletic Director.
  • A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent is required; a bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred.
  • Previous experience as a football coach or player, preferably at the high school level.
  • Strong knowledge of football rules, strategies, and techniques.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with athletes, coaches, and staff.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a coaching team and independently when required.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and a commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive athletic environment.
  • First Aid and CPR certification is preferred but can be obtained upon hiring.
  • A valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • Ability to pass a background check and any other pre-employment screenings.
  • A passion for football and a dedication to the overall development of student-athletes.
