THE OPPORTUNITY
YES Prep needs a dynamic Child Nutrition Coordinator with a robust set of experiences, to make our mission a reality. As a YES Prep employee, you will achieve jaw-dropping results, create pathways to opportunity for our students, and build transformative relationships.

THE ROLE
When you join the YES Prep team some of the exciting work and responsibilities will include:
Compliance and Reporting
- Supporting the Child Nutrition Assistant and Operations Manager with internal and external program compliance regulations;
- Assisting Child Nutrition Operation Manager and Operations Specialists with daily reports and audits;
- Conducting daily edit checks and pulling reports from Primero the Child Nutrition software to ensure accuracy;
- Staying up to date on all changes to meal programs through regular monitoring of squaremeals.org and attending all relevant trainings;
- Processing, compiling, and staying up to date on health inspections and grease trap cleanings for all schools;
- Tracking of Child Nutrition vehicle maintenance and mileage.
Administrative Support
- Supporting the Child Nutrition Operations Manager, Child Nutrition Operations Specialists, and Child Nutrition Assistant with administrative duties;
- Preparing administrative documents and emails for the Child Nutrition Team;
- Sending out district-wide correspondence communications;
- Responding to calls sent to the general Child Nutrition mailbox;
- Checking, responding, and clearing the Child Nutrition emails;
- Setting up agendas for our Child Nutrition, vendor, wellness, advisory meetings;
- Compiling data and housing in our CN Teams files and other housing locations.
Coordination and Communication
- Assisting in the coordination of the field trip lunch tracker & processes with Full-Service Management Company (food vendor) for all YES Prep campuses;
- Sending daily email reports to the Child Nutrition team and food vendor;
- Supporting the Child Nutrition Department at campuses for all hands-on deck days and Child Nutrition Events;
- Supporting new schools and Child Nutrition vendor with health inspections and permitting;
- Processing dietary restrictions needs from school to vendor;
- Supporting the organization of the Wellness Policy work at the district level;
- Coordinating, planning, and executing with the Child Nutrition designee Wellness events, National School Lunch and Breakfast weeks, and any national event program;
- Aiding and collaborating in the development of advertising content for child nutrition menu boards;
- Drafting presentations for internal Child Nutrition presentations.
Student Eligibility and Applications
- Assisting in the management of the student eligibility process – processing Free and Reduced Lunch Applications;
- Assisting in constructing state and federal application formatting, delivery, and follow-up of applications.
Procurement and Orders
- Placing orders for the department including supplies, food, etc.
- Additional duties as assigned

- Associate's degree
- 3+ years of experience in an administrative, compliance, or related field
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
- Excellent organizational and people skills including time management and follow up

- Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality

THE NICE TO HAVES
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year educational institution
- Experience in Child Nutrition
- At least 2 years exemplary record working in a fast-paced office environment
- Bilingual in Spanish
- Ability to maintain emotional control under stress
- Demonstrated ability to work on a team
THE PERKS
- Compensation – This position is a non-exempt, hourly position; offers commensurate with experience.
- Health and Supplemental Insurance– A $0 monthly medical option or a $24 monthly option that includes $50 YES Prep Paid Health Savings Account contribution, in addition to a variety of supplemental benefits including Dental, Vision, Disability, Life, etc. Employees must work 20+ hours a week to be eligible for a full spectrum of benefits, and 10 hours a week minimum for medical benefits.
