Job Description

Responsibilities: Under the supervision of the Adult Mental Health Services Waverly Wellness Coordinator, performs a variety of clerical duties & supportive services to clinical staff. Daily ongoing consumer contact; receives, screens and routes telephone calls; assists walk-in consumers and other visitors in ascertaining needs, explains departmental policies, procedures, and program operating guidelines, initiating necessary paperwork, and referring to appropriate staff. Additional duties include: typing, scheduling, and ongoing maintenance of consumer records in SmartCare, scanning and data entry. The secretary is responsible for verifying & maintaining up-to-date insurance coverage/eligibility to ensure timely billing of services rendered. Ability to communicate accurately and effectively both in writing and verbally is required.

Requirements: High school diploma or G.E.D. is required. Two years’ secretarial experience or equivalent required. Must pass a Microsoft and Excel exam with a proficient score. Proficient in Microsoft Word & Excel is required. Ability to become proficient in SmartCare is required. The secretary is required to maintain a professional demeanor and appropriate boundaries with consumers at all times, this is a multifaceted position that requires attention-to-detail and use of good judgment and knowledge.

Conditional Employment Requirements: Employment offers for this position will be contingent upon the results of a Michigan State Police clearance check. Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen.

Salary/Hours: $18.93 - $20.95 hourly. 40 hours per week, M-F 8am-5pm.
