Job Description

This position offers a $2,000 (1 year stay-on agreement) or 4,000 (2 year stay-on agreement) Sign On Bonus with the agency! This bonus will be provided upon completion of a probationary period.

Responsibilities: Under the supervision of a Supervisor/Coordinator, serves as a staff nurse, performing a variety of duties within Older Adult Services (OAS). May be responsible for the orderly administration and maintenance of medication which involves administering prescribed drugs. Participates in interdisciplinary planning of care and treatment ensuring the coordination of medical services to consumers served by the program. May render general nursing care and provide medical support in accordance with approved nursing practices. Coordinates referrals from case managers requesting consultation with physicians, providing nursing consultation regarding consumers to case managers. Additional responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: providing information and assistance specific to the area of assignment, performing admissions screening on new consumers, serving as agency liaison, performing crisis intervention activities, providing case management, providing patient education, and providing above services on an outreach basis as indicated. Responsible for carrying out all activities of the program/sub-unit in such a manner that fulfills CMHA-CEI’s mission, policies and procedures.

Requirements: Possession of an Associate’s Degree or Bachelor’s degree in nursing required. Possession of a State of Michigan license as a Registered Nurse required. One year experience (professional or paraprofessional) in treating or working with a person who has a mental illness required. Must demonstrate competent computer skills in data base programs and word processing. Possession of a valid MI Driver’s License required. Access to reliable means of transportation for job related use required.

Conditional Employment Requirements: Employment offers for this position will be contingent upon the results of a background verification and credentialing procedure consisting of: Michigan State Police clearance check, verification of a professional license, Medicaid/Medicare verification, educational background check, and verification of an acceptable work history. Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen.

Salary/Hours: $32.48 - $38.16 hourly. Monday-Thursday 8am-12pm, Friday 12:30pm-4:30pm.

Location: Adult Mental Health/OAS, Lansing, Michigan.
