Responsibilities: Under the guidance of the Crisis Services Coordinator, this position entails serving as a master’s level professional clinician who provides a comprehensive array of direct and indirect mental health and substance abuse services within a collaborative team environment. The primary focus is to deliver immediate crisis intervention services to individuals experiencing mental illness or co-occurring substance use disorders. The clinician will operate both in an office setting and within the community as required. Collaboration with community partners is essential to determine suitable treatment options for stabilization, along with the provision of follow-up care, ensuring continuous communication takes place. This role includes the responsibility for thorough case documentation. The clinician evaluates challenging behaviors and emotional trauma through interviews and observations of consumers, as well as by reviewing records and developing a concise crisis intervention plan based on a strength-based approach. Additionally, the clinician is accountable for executing all activities of the sub-unit in a manner that aligns with CMHA-CEI's mission, policies, and procedures.
Requirements: Possession of a Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology or related field is required. Two years of experience (professional or paraprofessional) in treating or working with adults with mental illness required. Two years of professional experience providing crisis intervention techniques, determining hospital eligibility, performing clinical diagnostic assessments/evaluations, and brief counseling techniques required. Possession of appropriate State of Michigan credential is required. Candidate must be able to work well with others. Ability to communicate accurately and effectively both verbally and in writing required. Possession of a valid Michigan driver’s license and access to reliable means of transportation for job related use required.
Conditional Employment Requirements: Employment offers for this position will be contingent upon the results of a background verification and credentialing procedure consisting of: Michigan State Police clearance check, undergo and pass a Central Registry Screening, verification of an acceptable driving record, verification of a professional license, Medicaid/Medicare verification, educational background check and verification of an acceptable work history. Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.

Salary/Hours: $66,232-$74,560 annually with scheduled, annual increases that can result in a salary of $85,419. The schedule for this position is Thursday through Saturday, 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. & every other Sunday 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
