Job Description

Responsibilities: Under the supervision of the Coordinator, Cedar Roots Recovery. Cedar Roots Recovery is a 40 bed program designed to address adult men with substance use disorders within a residential level of care. The Recovery Coach will serve as a role model, mentor, advocate and motivator to individuals seeking recovery and will assist with engagement in supportive services; assistance with recovery goals identified in the treatment plan; access and transition between service levels; positive social activities; motivation to continue recovery goals; relapse prevention and recovery promotion. This position will On occasion will be required to conduct “pat downs” and urine screens. Responsible for carrying out all activities of the program/sub-unit in such a manner that fulfills CMHA-CEI’s mission, policies and procedures. Requirements: Possession of high school diploma or G.E.D is required. Must have two continuous years in recovery from addiction (s) with experience navigating treatment services and/or prevention; experience receiving publicly funded treatment and recovery services for addiction. Two years of experience interacting with persons with substance use disorder required. Candidate must have MDHHS approved Peer Recovery Coach certification (CCAR). Must be a MCBAP Certified Peer Recovery Mentor or apply for a Development Plan and worked towards certification within a maximum of one (1) year from date of hire or change in regulation. Ability to communicate accurately and effectively both orally and in writing is required. Possession of a valid Michigan driver’s license and access to reliable transportation for job related use is required.

Conditional Employment Requirements: Employment offers for this position will be contingent upon the results of a Michigan State Police Clearance, county jail background check, Medicaid/Medicare verification, educational background check and verification of an acceptable work history and an acceptable Michigan driving record. Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen. Individual must be able to pass Michigan Department of Corrections LEIN Process per Contract.

Salary/Hours: $43,299 - $46,739 annually. 40 hours per week. The schedule will consist of three days a week from 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM, two days a week from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with one of those days falling on the weekend (either Saturday or Sunday)

Location: Substance Abuse Services/Cedar Roots Recovery, Mason, Michigan.
