The International Potato Center (CIP) is looking for one (1) IT Helpdesk and Support Intern to provide support to the Information Technology Department in Lima, Peru.

About the position: This position will provide essential support in the diagnosis and resolution of technical incidents, ensuring the continuity of IT services for both on-site and remote users. The intern will play a key role in maintaining IT asset inventory, monitoring network services, and supporting information security protocols within the organization.


Key responsibilities:


1. Support in the diagnosis and resolution of incidents related to computers, network connectivity, conference equipment, and peripherals.


2. Information security support, including handling and escalating security events and incidents.


3. Documentation of internal IT processes and procedures in accordance with the ITIL framework.


4. Monitoring network services and communications infrastructure.


5. Updating and maintaining the IT asset inventory.


6. Support for end users on Office 365 applications, web conferencing tools, and business applications.


7. Knowledge of ITIL Foundation principles.


Requirements


What are we looking for?


· Students in their final semesters or recent graduates in Systems Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, Telecommunications, or related fields.


· Ranked in the upper third of their faculty (mandatory requirement).


· Knowledge of the Windows operating system, Microsoft Office 365 applications, computer configuration, troubleshooting, and teleconferencing applications (Teams, Zoom, etc.).


· Basic knowledge of information security concepts (malware, phishing, antivirus, etc.).


· Knowledge of data networking fundamentals.


· Ability to provide support to on-site and remote end users.


· Service-oriented mindset with strong interpersonal communication and teamwork skills.


· Intermediate level of English proficiency.
