Job Description

Manage a team of data analysts in performing daily functions and activities to support assigned program areas. Manage a team of data analysts with a focus on applying business knowledge and technical expertise to develop tools to help make data driven decisions, report on program performance, and build efficiencies into daily work processes and products in compliance with state and federal regulations and policies. Respond to ad-hoc requests for information; and supporting programmatic analysis, reporting and data management. Serve as the technical liaison with ITD.

How you will contribute:

Compliance Activities: Ensure systems are operating in compliance by assessing risks, auditing, and reconciling systems activities.

Oversight: Oversee development of business reporting tools and data analysis necessary to support the business functions of the Division. Lend support to cross-functional teams and initiatives to ensure consistency, performance and reliability of analytical tools developed by others. Manage escalated situations when needed to provide customer support.

Process Improvement: Perform in and build multi-functional teams to develop new processes or enhance existing processes and document procedures and business rules, including serving as the Division point of contact with ITD. Promote innovation among staff to develop innovative products and services.

Project Management: Ensure projects are managed to achieve business goals and outcomes including scoping, scheduling, resource planning, communicating and deliverables.

Special Assignments: Serve as subject matter expert or provide management support to special projects and initiatives.

Proficient use of Microsoft Office products.

Skill in developing and managing large data sets and integrating data from different sources and across different platforms.

Minimum Qualifications:

Knowledge of business process improvement and performance management.

Knowledge of theory, principles of database development, and data management.

Skill developing and managing large data sets and integrating data from different sources and across different platforms.

Skill in Microsoft platforms, including Excel, SharePoint, Teams, and Power BI.

Skill in applying logic and reasoning to identify, analyze problem areas, and recommend various solutions consistent with applicable regulations and policies.

Skill in oral and written communication to build effective relationships.

Skill in working with business and financial information systems.

Additional Considerations:

A combination of training, experience, or education in Public Policy, Business Administration, Finance, or related field desired.

Experience in planning, business administration, financial data analysis, and software development.

Experience supervising or directing the work of staff or teams.

Virginia’s judicial system consists of the Supreme Court of Virginia and the Court of Appeals of Virginia, the Circuit Courts, and the lower General District Courts and the Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Courts. Virginia has 13 electoral votes in presidential elections, and possesses 11 seats in the U.S. House of Representatives.
