Job Description

We support leading OEMs in the automotive industry by providing high‑level technical expertise across product development, quality, diagnostics, and aftersales operations.

As a Field Technical Support Engineer at ALTEN Mexico, you will provide expert‑level technical support for complex automotive issues, acting as a key technical reference for diagnostics, investigation, and resolution of difficult vehicle repair cases.
This role requires strong expertise in vehicle diagnostics, electrical and electronic systems, and electrified vehicles, as well as the ability to independently analyze problems and support continuous improvement within aftersales operations.

Key Activities

  • Provide guided expert‑level diagnostics to support accurate and timely vehicle repairs.
  • Analyze, document, and report technical faults identified in vehicles and diagnostic tools.
  • Evaluate support cases related to customer complaints, prior repairs, warranty history, and software status
  • Perform technical investigations and special follow‑ups to support the organization’s aftersales operations.
  • Investigate and resolve complex or critical repair cases, including duplication and testing scenarios.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and clearly document findings and corrective actions.
  • Support vehicle fire and collision investigations when required.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and propose innovative technical solutions.
  • Interact professionally with technical teams and stakeholders, representing the brand with technical credibility.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Automotive, Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or related).
  • 5+ years of experience in automotive field support, diagnostics, aftersales engineering, or technical support roles.
  • Strong expertise in vehicle diagnostics, manufacturer‑specific tools, and test equipment.
  • Advanced knowledge of EV / HEV / PHEV / MHEV systems and high‑voltage systems
  • Solid background in electrical and electronic automotive systems
  • Proven experience in root cause analysis and complex technical troubleshooting.
  • Ability to work independently, applying structured technical judgment.
  • Strong PC skills (Microsoft Office and technical/diagnostic software).
  • Advanced English (written and spoken).
