2027New Product Introduction/Technology-Entry Level Engineer Rotation

This position is part of our New Product Introduction/Technology Engineering Rotation Program. The TMP Engineer Rotation Program provides the foundation for the future success of Solar Turbines engineers and of the organization. The purpose of the program is to start the development and training of the next generation of highly capable and highly competent engineers through a coordinated engineering rotation program.

Program Goals

  • Begin building technicalfoundation

  • Provide challengingassignments

  • Create broad exposure to Solar Turbines

  • Acquiregas turbine productknowledge

  • Develop enterpriseperspective

  • Begin networkbuilding

  • Build pride andengagement

  • Preparation for a challenging and rewarding engineeringcareer

Each program consists of multiple Four to Six-month Rotations in departments such as:

  • Mechanical Design

  • Mechanical Design Methods

  • Combustion

  • Heat Transfer

  • Compressor Aero

  • Turbine Aero

  • Materials & Processes

  • Development Test

  • Aftermarket Engineering

  • Performance

  • Customer Services

At the end of the rotation program,longtermassignments are given for placement in one of the NPI/Tech Engineering departments.

Minimum Qualifications

  • In the process of obtainingor have obtained a minimum of abachelor’s degree in mechanical, Aerospace, Combustion, or other related Engineering discipline.

  • Overall GPA of2.8on a 4.0 scale.

  • 0-3 years of relevant experience.

  • PreviousInternshipand/or relevant work experience.

  • Technical knowledge of engineering fundamentals

  • Must be able and willing torelocateto San Diego, CA

Preferred Qualifications

  • High energylevelandsenseof urgency.

  • Good business / technical judgment.

  • Ability to handle multiple priorities for a variety of tasks.

  • Previousco-op or Internship experience

  • Problem solving skills.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

Pay Range:

$72,360.00 - $108,540.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
