What You Can Expect

The Manufacturing Supervisor Intern will work in conjunction with manufacturing supervisors and operations leadership to support efficient daily production activities. This role provides exposure to front-line manufacturing supervision, including shift support, team coordination, safety and quality compliance, production scheduling, training follow-up, and continuous improvement initiatives. The intern will assist with administrative and operational activities that help ensure product flow, team readiness, and adherence to company policies and regulatory requirements.

How You'll Create Impact

  • Assist supervisors with coordinating daily production activities and monitoring completion of assigned work within a department or value stream.
  • Support shift operations by helping track production status, staffing needs, and schedule attainment.
  • Observe and assist with activities that promote compliance with safety, GMP, quality system, and environmental health requirements.
  • Help maintain and organize operational records, training documentation, attendance information, and other controlled or departmental documents as appropriate.
  • Participate in routine floor audits, 5S activities, and process observations to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Assist with communication of production issues, constraints, and follow-up actions across manufacturing and cross-functional teams.
  • Support training coordination to help ensure team members have current qualifications for assigned tasks.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement projects related to safety, quality, delivery, productivity, or team effectiveness.
  • Compile and analyze basic operational data to support problem solving and decision-making.
  • Perform other related duties and project assignments as directed by manufacturing leadership.

What Makes You Stand Out

  • Basic understanding of manufacturing operations, production flow, and workplace safety principles.
  • Interest in leadership, supervision, and team coordination within a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to balance quality, compliance, safety, and delivery requirements.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively across functions and shifts.
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments, prioritize tasks, and complete work in a timely manner.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills, including use of basic data and process improvement tools.
  • Demonstrated initiative, professionalism, and willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work independently with appropriate guidance and within a team environment.

Your Background

  • Must be actively enrolled in an academic program for the entire duration of the assignment
  • Must be at least a junior in an accredited engineering, manufacturing, operations management, industrial technology, business, or a related field egree program
  • Available to work full-time (40 hours/week) during the internship term.
  • Prior internship, leadership, team project, manufacturing, or operations experience is a plus.
  • GPA of 3.0+ preferred.
  • Authorized to work in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.
