ThePublic Affairs Internship Programisdesigned to expose participants to an array of opportunities within Public Affairs where they can develop professional expertise in building trust, brand reputation, and positive business results for a multinational financial services company.
Participants will have the opportunity to gain experience and develop industry best practices by supporting business function priorities. Through this program, participants will take on day-to-day responsibilities, expand their network, and grow their portfolio.#earlycareers
Individuals may be placed in one of the following teams:
Brand Management & Sponsorshipsis responsible for protecting, promoting and evolving the Wells Fargo brand.
Communicationsdeliversstrategic counsel and engaging content to build brand favorability while protecting and enhancing Wells Fargo’s reputation and culture.
In this role you will Workclosely with Wells Fargo’s colleagues to provide strategic advice, subject matter expertise, and innovative solutions to Wells Fargobusinesses. As a Public Affairs Intern, depending on function assigned, you will beexpectedto:
Participate in the development, design, and execution of business priorities
Identify, gather, and analyze data and develop initial insights that inform strategic recommendations
Provide production support and/or serve as a liaison to business partners
Develop presentations and other documents for management and senior leaders independently and in partnership with other team members
Evaluate strategic options and develop recommendations for feature enhancements and process efficiencies
Partner and collaborate with colleagues across the Public Affairs organization
Build new partner relationships while seeking feedback, creating alignment, and proactively addressing risks
Build business acumen while strengthening your skills
Be visible,presentand actively engaged in Public Affairs Employee Engagement Initiatives
Adhere to hybrid in-office attendance policy
Required Qualifications:
6+ months of work experience, or equivalentdemonstratedthrough one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in: Communications, Public Relations, Media Advertising, Graphic Design,Marketingor related degree with an expected graduation date between December 2027 – June 2028
Intermediate Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) skills
Involvement in extracurricular enrichment activities through one or more of the following: volunteerism, student organization involvement, study abroad program(s), leadership position(s), non-profit involvement
Demonstrated knowledge, interest and/or experience in financial services, strategy, and fintech,analyticalskillsand interest inidentifying, collecting, and strategically analyzing information and data, helping drive insights and interest in developing strategic recommendations
Familiarity with AI powered productivity tools (such aschat-basedassistants and built in features like Microsoft Copilot) to support everyday tasks includingresearch,organizing information, and creating presentations with a strong interest in learning and using these tools responsibly.
Strong critical thinking and data analysis skills, with the ability to learn quickly, adapt to change, and support innovative public affairs initiatives.
Ability to execute with urgency,manage reporting,projects, meetings, and events effectively, and support campaign strategy while driving operational excellence with an enterprise mindset.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively, foster an inclusive environment, and actively seek and apply feedback to support public affairs initiatives.
Strong business acumen and marketing skills, with the ability to support brand management, content design, and marketing channels while delivering excellent service and business-focused impact.
Ability to act with integrity, manage risk effectively, and support compliant, well-managed vendor relationships in a dynamic public affairs environment.
