Position Summary

  • Support construction project management, field coordination, cost estimating, and project documentation activities under the guidance of experienced project team members.
  • Gain hands-on experience in construction project delivery across planning, preconstruction, and active construction phases.
  • Assist project teams with coordination, tracking, scheduling, documentation, and communication efforts.
  • Develop practical knowledge of construction management processes, project controls, estimating, and field operations.
  • Learn industry best practices while contributing to project success and seeking guidance on unfamiliar tasks.

Key Responsibilities

Project Coordination & Administration

  • Assist with project coordination and day-to-day project management activities.
  • Maintain project management software, project files, logs, and documentation.
  • Attend project meetings and assist with recording and distributing meeting minutes.
  • Support preparation and distribution of equipment and construction bid packages.
  • Track project materials, submittals, RFIs, change requests, and related documentation.
  • Assist with monitoring project schedules, budgets, and overall progress.
  • Organize and manage project records and reference materials.
  • Coordinate with project teams, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders as directed.

Construction & Field Support

  • Maintain jobsite records, including daily reports, submittal logs, RFI logs, and correspondence.
  • Review and develop an understanding of blueprints, specifications, and construction documents.
  • Assist with updates to as-built drawings and project coordination documents.
  • Gain exposure to construction site operations, project sequencing, scheduling, and trade coordination.
  • Participate in project safety activities and follow established safety procedures.
  • Support a safe, organized, and efficient jobsite environment.

Preconstruction & Cost Estimating

  • Assist with estimating and preconstruction activities.
  • Support preparation and organization of bid packages and preconstruction documents.
  • Research contractors, subcontractors, vendors, materials, and equipment.
  • Gain exposure to project budgeting, cost tracking, pay applications, and change order processes.
  • Develop an understanding of how project scope, design decisions, schedules, and material selections impact construction costs.

Learning & Professional Development

  • Continuously build knowledge of construction management, engineering, project controls, safety, and preconstruction processes.
  • Research and apply company standards, guidelines, policies, and procedures.
  • Attend training sessions, intern programs, meetings, and development activities.
  • Seek opportunities to expand technical and industry knowledge.
  • Provide general project and team support as needed.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • Previous construction, engineering, or internship experience preferred.
  • Coursework in construction management, estimating, scheduling, engineering, or related disciplines preferred.
  • Familiarity with construction project management, estimating, scheduling, or drafting software preferred.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Knowledge of construction processes, terminology, building systems, and construction documentation preferred.
