The NYLIM Investment Research Analysis Internship Program is an exciting opportunity for rising juniors and seniors looking to gain the experience, skills, and support needed to help launch their careers. This posting is part of our Investment Research & Analysis Internship track for Summer 2027, which includes opportunities across both our Public Fixed Income and Private Fixed Income Investment Teams.
The 10-week paid internship begins in June 2027. Participants will take part in weekly intern events, such as Business Overviews and Meet & Greets with senior leaders. Our program includes training and development seminars, networking opportunities, social events, and a collaborative summer internship project culminating in an opportunity to be considered for a full-time rotational analyst role.
The internship is based in our New York City (NY), Princeton (NJ), and El Segundo (CA) offices and interns will join one of following business areas:
Private Fixed Income (NYC)
Global Fixed Income (NYC)
High Yield (NYC)
Municipals (Princeton and El Segundo)
Throughout the summer, interns will participate in business overviews, networking opportunities, leadership presentations, training sessions, and collaborative intern programming while gaining firsthand exposure to the investments organization.
What You'll Do
Depending on your assigned team, your responsibilities may include:
Support research analysts and portfolio managers in the active management of investment portfolios through exposure to daily trading activity in special projects and reporting.
Conduct financial analysis, including financial modeling and scenario analysis; surveil existing bond portfolio positions and prepare credit research updates using financial modeling, scenario analysis, and relevant databases
Provide market data analytics support through data collection, and the preparation of special market reports, dashboards, and presentations
Contribute to a variety of projects that may include portfolio management, new deal analysis, market research, and credit evaluation.
Work alongside investment professionals, develop analytical and technical skills, and gain insight into the decision-making processes that guide institutional investing.
Preferred Skills
Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, and/or Computer Science
Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills with knowledge of financial markets, capable of undertaking interpretive analysis of new concepts
High proficiency in Excel/VBA, financial modeling, and Bloomberg and other data visualization tools
An understanding of core computer science and programming concepts, including data structures and algorithms, as well as knowledge of a programming language (e.g., Java, Python, C++, etc.)
Excellent interpersonal, collaboration, communication, and writing skills; detail-oriented with the ability to effectively multi-task
Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis, and interviews will begin in mid-September.

Pay Transparency
Salary Range: $27 / hour
Overtime eligible: Nonexempt
Discretionary bonus eligible: No
Sales bonus eligible: No
Actual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individual’s experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition to base salary, employees may also be eligible to participate in an incentive program.
