The Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas Internship Program is a prestigious, cohort-based experience that attracts top talent from across the country for paid, full-time summer internships spanning majors and functional areas – from economic research and finance to Cash Services, IT, and beyond. While interns take on a specific functional role for the summer with meaningful work and opportunities to grow, the program offers much more than a single assignment. Dedicated staff mentors help launch your career, and curated cohort programming provides broad exposure to central banking, direct access to senior leaders and industry experts, and dedicated learning and development opportunities. As part of the Federal Reserve System, you'll also build a professional network of peers that spans the nation. The program runs approximately for 10-12 weeks, beginning in mid-to-late May and concluding in August. For this specific position, you will be located in the Dallas office.

The Credit, Risk and Reserves Management Department implements monetary policy by extending credit through the discount window and by administering Regulation D with monetary tools such as interests on balances, Term Deposit Facility program and excess balance accounts. The department also monitors depository institutions (DIs) that hold Federal Reserve accounts and uses appropriate controls to mitigate risk to the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas.
Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. (40 hours/ week). Some additional hours may be required.

Today the Federal Reserve's duties fall into four general areas:

Supervising and regulating banking institutions to ensure the safety and soundness of the nation's banking and financial system and to protect the credit rights of consumers.
Maintaining the stability of the financial system and containing systemic risk that may arise in financial markets.
Providing financial services to depository institutions, the U.S. government, and foreign official institutions, including playing a major role in operating the nation's payments system.
