Our program

Our 10week paid Summer Internship provides handson exposure to the Capital Markets business while building a strong foundation in financial markets and corporate finance. Interns work alongside experienced professionals, supporting live transactions and client deliverables, while participating in structured training, mentorship, and peer development programming.Successful interns may be considered for entry into the fulltime Capital Markets Development Program upon graduation.

What you’ll do

As a Capital Markets Intern, you may:

  • Assist traders with market analysis

  • Build tools to help traders deliver more accurate pricing

  • Monitor the trading desk’s risk and positioning

  • Provide market commentary to broader internal team members.

  • Build a supportive community of peers through a variety of cohort strengthening activities such as social events, development workshops, and catered insight to support your transition from college to the workforce

This role is designed for candidates who may be placedinAsset-Backed Securities (ABS), High Yield Sales & Trading, or Investment Grade Sales & Tradingbased on business demand, interests, and skill alignment.

We’re looking for intellectually curious and creative thinkers who canthink on their feet andthoughtfully react to a changing market.

Basic qualifications:

Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Econometrics or related fieldswith a target graduation of December 2027 or spring 2028. Ability to start the internship programon June 7, 2027.

Preferred qualifications:

  • GPA of 3.0 or above

  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication

  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and under time pressure

  • Intellectual curiosity and attention to detail

Working model and hours:
This role is hybrid. Team members who are in a hybrid role typically spend three days a week at the listed U.S. Bank location(s), while having flexibility on their work location for the other working days. Interns work approximately 40 hours each week during the internship.

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $28.27 - $37.69
