Job Description

The Future Talent Program features internships that last up to 12 weeks and will include one or more projects. These opportunities within the Strategic Access, Policy, & Communications (SAPC) team can provide you with great development and a chance to see if we are the right company for your long-term goals.

Our Company's Enterprise Social Media team, part of the Digital Communications & Brand function within SAPC, is seeking a summer intern to support corporate social media initiatives and help advance social engagement across our global business. The intern will collaborate with social media leaders, communicators, agency partners, and cross-functional stakeholders to support content planning, publishing, community engagement, reporting, and social media strategy. This role offers hands-on experience in supporting what it takes to manage enterprise-level social media channels in a highly regulated and fast-paced environment.

This internship will be based in the Rahway, NJ, location. This individual will be expected to come to the Rahway, NJ, office 3 times a week.

Learning Opportunities for the prospective intern are:

  • Social Media Experience: Gain hands-on experience supporting enterprise social media content planning, publishing, community management, and audience engagement.
  • Analytics & Insights: Learn how performance reporting, benchmarking, and data-driven insights inform social media strategy and decision-making.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with communications leaders, agency teams, and business stakeholders across the organization.
  • Governance & Compliance: Develop an understanding of content review and approval processes within a highly regulated industry.
  • Professional Growth: Build a network of communications professionals while gaining exposure to innovative social media trends and best practices.

Required Education

  • Candidates must be currently enrolled in a full-time bachelor's or master's degree program in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Digital Media, Business, or a related field.

Required Experience and Skills

  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with an ability to communicate effectively across teams.
  • Demonstrated interest in social media, digital communications, content creation, or marketing.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines.
  • Analytical mindset with an interest in using data and insights to inform recommendations.
  • Detail-oriented with a willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Experience and Skills

  • Experience creating content for personal, academic, student organization, or professional social media channels.
  • Familiarity with major social media platforms, including LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, X, YouTube, and emerging platforms.
  • Experience creating digital content, including graphics, video, or written content.
  • Familiarity with social media management, analytics, or design tools such as Canva, Sprout Social, or similar platforms.
  • Interest in communications within healthcare, science, corporate reputation, or highly regulated industries.

Salary range:

The salary range for this role is $39,908 - $111,111
