Our Environmental Assessment discipline comprises environmental scientists and biologists who navigate local, state, and federal National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) regulations and permitting for primarily public-sector projects, including Departments of Transportation (DOTs) and local governments.
General Assignments: Interns will perform routine environmental assessment tasks using standard procedures under the supervision of professional environmental scientists and biologists and may assist Hanson engineers, designers, and technicians in disciplines related to their field of study.
Interns will typically support one or more experienced professionals in performing assignments, spend time shadowing actual operations, and have unique assignments that support larger projects, as well as experience the day-to-day workings of environmental assessment Interns may perform and/or participate in additional activities/events which help them build a strong network within the Hanson community and with fellow interns. Internships may require travel to suppliers, customers, or other Hanson locations.

Qualifications:
Intern must be actively enrolled in a relevant field of study such as Environmental Science, Environmental Biology, Natural Resources, Biology, Ecology or Environmental Engineering. The ideal candidate will have successfully completed their sophomore year, be actively enrolled in an accredited 4-year college or university and have familiarity with Geographical Information System software.
