2027 Entry Level Gas Compressor Engineering Rotation
This position is part of our Gas Compressor Engineering Rotation Program. The GCE Rotation Program provides the foundation for the future success of Solar Turbines engineers and of the organization. The purpose of the program is to start the development and training of the next generation of highly capable and highly competent engineers through a coordinated engineering rotation program.
Program Goals:
Begin building technical foundation
Provide challenging assignments
Create broad exposure to Solar Turbines
Acquire gas compressor product knowledge
Develop enterprise perspective
Begin network building
Build pride and engagement
Preparation for a challenging and rewarding engineering career
Generally, the program consists of a two year rotation with multiple Three to Six-month Rotations in departments such as:
Aerodynamics
Rotordynamics
Mechanical and Electrical Analysis
Mechanical Design
Manufacturing and Test
Systems Analysis
Product Management
At the end of the rotation program, long term assignments are given for placement in one of the Gas Compressor Engineering departments.
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or other related Engineering discipline.
Overall GPA of at least 2.8 on a 4.0 scale.
0-3 years of relevant work experience, previous co-op or internship experience.
Technical knowledge of engineering fundamentals.
Must be able and willing to relocate to San Diego, CA

Good business / technical judgment.
Ability to handle multiple priorities for a variety of tasks.
Problem solving skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Pay Range:
$26.00 - $43.00
Intern Hourly Rate:
An intern's hourly rate is based on the major/degree being pursued and the number of completed academic hours achieved before the start of the internship.
