This entry-level opportunity is designed to help you build your skills, gain exposure across functions, and grow through hands-on experience, mentorship, and development opportunities.JOB SUMMARY:To support all new automation manufacturing technology projects, automation continuous improvement efforts, and implement best automation methods and standardization processes. Responsible for research, development and implementation of automation equipment and components on new and existing programs aimed at mitigating safety and ergonomic risk, increasing product quality and reducing overall cost.JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:Collaborates with Engineering and Tool Engineering on automation solutions and build-plan methodology for new programs; Gives input/feedback on associated design criteriaIdentifies, justifies, and implements new technology and manufacturing techniques to improve safety/ergonomics, reduce manufacturing cost (labor, material, inventory, scrap), and improve product/process qualityDesign, build, implement and provide production support for all automation systems used in manufacturingSupports cross-functional teams in the development and implementation of automated systems in support of manufacturingProvide process capability specifications for new technologyLeads production in tracking the performance of the automation system by creating and measuring Key Performance IndicatorsTroubleshoots manufacturing issues in automation cells, recommends and implements improvements and solutions to support manufacturingExecutes support for major automation programs and continuous improvement projectsAnalyzes/interprets engineering drawing, manufacturing operation sequence, tooling function, and process specifications and issues engineering change requests (ECR) to improve or eliminate manufacturing issues in sustaining production operations as related to automationResponsible for creation of automated cell concepts, authors Robotics/PLC controlling software, ensures proper operation of cells, program manages automation projects, and ensures compliance to safety and RIA standards.Works with vendors/suppliers regarding sourcing, technology information updatesWorks with other Textron Business Units to provide technical assistance and benchmarking
