
Communications Intern
The Allegheny County Department of Human Services (DHS) is seeking a Communications Intern to support social media strategy and other strategic priorities for the Department. Working directly with the Public Information Officer, the intern will develop content for the Department’s social media channels and public website to promote DHS’ programs to a range of audiences, and provide additional support in preparing for public events and announcements, participating in marketing planning, and other work as needed.
This opportunity is ideal for students interested in both making an impact at a large local government agency with a reputation for innovative leadership and in gaining hands-on experience in an active professional communications environment. Students pursuing Communications, Journalism, or other related fields will have the opportunity to learn by working side-by-side with a small team of experienced professionals.
