About this role:

Corporate hospitality is an important part of the championship experience, providing companies, clients, partners, and guests with premium spaces to engage throughout the week. This role supports the behind-the-scenes execution of these venues while giving interns hands-on exposure to planning, client management, hospitality operations, and the many USGA departments involved in championship execution. Interns will represent the USGA with professionalism while communicating with clients, vendors, volunteers, and internal teams, troubleshooting needs in real time, and helping create a smooth, service-focused championship hospitality experience before, during, and after championship week.

What you'll do

  • Pre-Championship Responsibilities: In the weeks leading up to the championship, interns will help prepare hospitality venues by supporting setup, build-out needs, facility cleaning, inspections, and client load-in. This work is highly hands-on and helps ensure each space is guest-ready and aligned with client expectations.
  • Championship Week Responsibilities: During championship week, interns will support daily hospitality operations, including access control, venue cleanliness, logistics, client requests, and real-time troubleshooting. Interns will also help coordinate with staff, vendors, and volunteers to keep hospitality spaces running smoothly.
  • Post-Championship Responsibilities: Following the championship, interns will support close-out by assisting with client load-out, hospitality space breakdown, and organization of remaining materials.
  • Pitch In Where Needed: Throughout the assignment, interns should be prepared to take on a variety of hands-on hospitality and operational tasks, including physical work and cleaning, to help deliver a smooth, first-class championship hospitality experience.

Internship Dates: Dates will vary by championship assignment and will be confirmed during the selection process.

  • 2027 U.S. Open at Pebble Beach Golf Links: June 1–21, 2027, in Monterey, CA.
  • 2027 U.S. Women’s Open at Inverness Club: May 26–June 7, 2027, in Toledo, OH.
  • *If selected for both championships*: The full anticipated commitment would run from May 26–June 21, 2027.

Pay Rate: $18.00/Hour

Where you'll be:

This position is located on-site at Pebble Beach Golf Links in Monterey, CA and/or Inverness Club in Toledo, OH, depending on championship assignment. Housing will be provided for selected interns at each championship location. If selected for both championships, travel from Toledo to Monterey will be covered by the USGA.

  • Strong organizational, planning, communication, and presentation skills
  • Ability to take initiative and effectively execute directions
  • Collaborative, high energy, and spirited
  • Creative thinker and problem-solver
  • Interest in hospitality sales and or service
