Applications for Talison’s Apprenticeship Program are now open!

Commencing in January 2027, Talison Lithium is once again offering both Mechanical and Electrical Apprenticeships within our Maintenance and Infrastructure Departments. We are looking for passionate, hardworking and mechanically minded applicants to join our growing team at the Greenbushes Lithium Operation.

The apprenticeships are designed to provide on the job experience whilst simultaneously giving successful candidates the opportunity to obtain a nationally recognised qualification. Mechanical Apprentices will study a Certificate III in Engineering, the required qualification for a Mechanical Tradesperson (Fitter), whilst our Electrical Apprentices will study a Certificate III in Electrotechnology, the required qualification for an Electrical Tradesperson (Electrician).

Throughout your Apprenticeship, you will:

  • Learn trade knowledge and skills relating to plant maintenance, machinery, processes and systems in your chosen field;
  • Work towards completing an apprenticeship in conjunction with a nationally recognised training plan through internal and external training (i.e. TAFE);
  • Work with your hands gaining actual on the job experience;
  • Gain experience from a range of qualified trade experts; and
  • Work as part of a team to ensure safe, continuous and environmentally responsible operations.

About the Candidate:

  • Completion of a trades pre-apprenticeship or relevant work experience in your chosen field;
  • A willingness to contribute toward the success of your team while supporting a positive team culture;
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills;
  • A strong work ethic with a commitment to health, safety and environmental work practices;
  • Motivation to achieve personal goals and objectives, including study and course work;
  • The ability to follow direction, while showing initiative and searching for improvement opportunities; and
  • Hold (or be working towards holding) a W.A. driver's license.
