Reading Interventionist
Qualifications
The teacher must have a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education, a valid Missouri Elementary Teaching Certificate, and a minimum of three years of classroom teaching experience. A Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education Special Reading Teacher Certificate for grades K-12 is also preferred.
The teacher will actively engage in ongoing professional learning and fulfill the expectations set by the Executive Director of Elementary Learning or the Executive Director of Elementary Learning's designee. The teacher should possess a deep understanding of diverse reading and assessment strategies and demonstrate the ability to effectively implement these practices in classroom settings. Additionally, the candidate must be skilled in communicating this knowledge to both educators and parents in a manner that fosters collaboration and support.

The teacher will be supervised by the building principal.
Duties
The duties of the Reading Interventionist are:
- Be informed of rules, policies, and regulations of the school and district and follow them as required.
- Understand and apply the instructional process with teaching and learning.
- Be willing to provide leadership, motivation, instruction, assessment, and instructional strategies necessary to meet the needs of all students.
- Share expectations and student progress with parents throughout the year.
- Collaborate with colleagues to support student learning.
- Provide classroom teachers, students, and parents/guardians with regular and timely information on student progress
- Provide strategies and activities to involve parents/guardians in their students' education.
- Maintain communication with classroom teachers regarding support for and assessment of children informally, during student intervention team meetings, and other settings as needed.
- Seek and participate in professional learning sessions to support student learning. This includes completing Lexia LETRS and Orton-Gillingham training within three years of accepting the position if not already completed.
- Work closely with building principal, building assistant principal, and other interventionists in the area of literacy to support students.
- Teacher maintains and submits required records and data as required by the building and district.
- Strive to implement, by instruction and action, the district's philosophy of education and instructional goals and objectives.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the building principal.
