Requisition Summary

Silicon Valley Innovation Center has an opening for a Mobility Strategy – Advanced Technology & New Business Models Intern to add to our Silicon Valley team in Sunnyvale, California. This is a high-visibility and high-impact internship. Output from this internship will culminate in presentations to PACCAR senior leadership and be used to inform future product and business decisions. This role is at the intersection of technology, business and commercial vehicles mobility. In this role, you will work closely with the Innovation Center's Managing Director of Innovation Business Development and his team on key strategic questions of high importance to PACCAR’s future.

This internship is for 10- to 12-week, full-time, and exclusively in-person activity. Specific start and end dates are flexible. The internship will be at our Silicon Valley office in Sunnyvale, California.

Job Responsibilities

This position will be working on various projects and reports to include but not limited to:

• Structure and right-size ambiguous business problems of high importance to PACCAR’s future.
• Develop and implement, as applicable, action plans to solve these high-visibility problems using both quantitative and qualitative analyses, stakeholder interviews and cross-functional collaboration.
• Communicate findings and recommendations to the PACCAR senior leadership.

Required Qualifications

The candidate we seek will be currently enrolled in a full-time MBA program or in a related graduate program such as Supply Chain, Logistics, or Transportation/Urban Planning.

Preferred Qualifications

The skills that are important to be successful in this position are as follows:

• Good grasp of business strategy: comfortable selecting, tailoring and applying suitable business frameworks to address strategic challenges. Prior Management Consulting experience is desired though not required.
• Advanced analytical, interviewing, listening, and rapport-building skills.
• Intellectual horsepower to quickly come up to speed and ask relevant questions on unfamiliar areas while being humble and low ego.
• Self-starter who takes initiative and get things done with limited oversight.
• Strong written and spoken communication skills and poise and professionalism geared towards an executive audience.
• A deep interest or prior experience in transportation / mobility / logistics or technology is a plus. Although a tech background is not necessary, comfort with technology concepts, such as platforms and APIs, is important.

The salary range for our intern positions is as follows:

• Graduate Students: $30.00/Hour
• Additionally, this role includes a 30% cost-of-living adjustment for California residency; this role is eligible for the full range of benefit options listed above.
