Job Description

Your primary responsibility will be working with survey field staff to complete a wide range of projects for not only the surveying and civil engineering groups but also supporting other projects within the infrastructure, environmental, geotechnical and CMS groups at SME. The field information that you will collect as a member of a survey field crew will be used to produce detailed, high-quality drawings and reports in accordance with company standards and methodologies, technical guidelines, and client needs. You will gain valuable experience working closely with surveyors, engineers, technicians, project managers and support staff to produce field data which will be used to complete technical drawings and specifications. In addition to working on projects within the land development, energy, industrial and infrastructure markets, you will also be exposed to several cutting-edge technologies, including: UAV/drone, GPS, robotic total stations and laser scanning. You will gain direct exposure to consulting engineering practices and have the opportunity to meet technical specialists in the areas of geotechnical engineering, environmental remediation, materials evaluation and infrastructure services.
