Job Description

Our Trainee Programme is on two-year fixed term contract (expected from September 2026 to August 2028) and is designed, structured and developed to give you an experience which is practical and enjoyable whilst authentically reflecting the daily work of our lawyers. Working alongside lawyers across levels on real client projects, you’ll enjoy structured work-based learning, skills training and presentations.

We carefully and thoughtfully plan our Trainee Programme to offer a combination of a variety of induction sessions, skills and information workshops together with networking opportunities and social events.

To ensure well-rounded development, you will have exposure to different practice groups in our PRC offices and you will be paired up with a senior lawyer as your supervisor. Their job is to guide, support, and encourage you throughout the course of your Trainee Programme. Throughout the programme, you can look forward to:

• tasks which will help you to develop your existing knowledge and skills, as well as picking up some new ones
• access to client work whilst being supervised and supported
• getting involved in a range of additional activities
• working with, and learning from, lawyers who are leaders in their respective fields
• a non-hierarchical structure with the emphasis on an approachable and collegiate working culture

To make sure that you meet our core capabilities and perform well throughout your traineeship, we will also get feedback from your supervisor regularly. Performance is assessed at the conclusion of the programme with offers then made for permanent roles.

Eligibility Requirements

• Law graduates from top academic institutions
• High level of proficiency in both written and spoken English and Chinese
• A team player with strong communication and time management skills
• A passionate learner with a proactive and meticulous mindset
• Prior Pinsent Masons working experience with outstanding performance preferred.
