Our Europe operations are located in London and Dublin and are part of our Global Banking & Markets (GBM) business. GBM provides a full range of investment banking, credit and risk management products and services relevant to the financing and strategic development needs of our clients.

Our products include debt and equity financing, mergers & acquisitions, corporate banking, institutional equity sales, trading and research, fixed income products, derivatives, energy, foreign exchange, and precious metals. We also cross-sell the full range of wholesale products and services offered by the Scotiabank Group.

Programme Overview:

Scotiabank offers an exciting opportunity to join the Dublin-based Business Risk Management team with a focus on the Global Banking & Markets division of a global bank headquartered in Canada commencing in June 2026.

This 10-week programme will offer unique insights into many of the Bank’s business areas, allow you to learn the nature of the non-financial risk and control framework that protects the Bank, and enable you to understand how Business Risk Management oversees the strategies employed by the Bank to mitigate risks.

What You Can Expect:

• Assist with implementing the control framework in the first line
• Help to administer various monitoring activities
• Prepare periodic reports for onward presentation
• Liaise with other control and support functions to co-ordinate approaches to risk mitigation
• Pool and manipulate sources of data for analysis and reporting
• Work on new initiatives designed to enhance business performance
• Review the local regulatory environment within which the bank operates
• Assisting in third party management risk
• Test existing control effectiveness
• Complete an intern project assignment and present it to the wider team
• Any other ad hoc work tasks assigned by management

Our internship is designed to give you real insight into life at Scotiabank. Alongside your day-to-day responsibilities, you’ll take part in:

• A weekly speaker series with leaders from across the Bank
• Peer to peer intern presentations

• A CSR project that supports one of our charity partners

Who We're Looking For:

• You are a penultimate year undergraduate student graduating in 2027
• You are available for a 10-week internship between mid-June to end of August 2026
• You ae a self-starter with an inquisitive mindset that is willing to learn
• You are proficient with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
• You are a team-player with strong communication skills
• You have a strong work ethic with excellent attention to detail and a focus to deliver
• You possess a reasonable standard of statistical literacy
• You are eligible to work in Ireland
