Trainee in the Supply Chain Department / Buyer (Part‑time)

We are looking for a new colleague to join our Supply Chain team in Prague on a part‑time basis. This position is suitable for university students in their final years who are interested in the field of Supply Chain. You will gain experience in areas such as data analysis, data management in systems, contract administration, supplier negotiations, purchasing, planning, technical parameters of qualified supplier parts, and compliance. The position is for a minimum of 6 months, and we expect you to work 15–20 hours per week.

Your main responsibilities:

You will learn and gradually take responsibility especially for:

  • Managing requirements for purchased materials and taking steps to ensure material availability as needed while maintaining optimal inventory levels. This includes planning data management, the purchase order release process, and coordination with buyers regarding capacity.
  • Actively participating in various projects supporting business goals, such as cost reduction, inventory reduction, lead‑time shortening, lean projects, and Six Sigma.
  • Participating in the evaluation and onboarding of new suppliers.
  • Communicating with suppliers regarding ordering principles.
  • Supporting buyers with processing purchase orders, resolving recurring delivery issues, and handling non‑conforming materials.
  • Supporting procurement in tracking supplier commitments, monitoring deliveries and schedule changes, investigating root causes of delays, and communicating updated plans.
  • Performing data analysis of supplier spending to identify opportunities for cost reduction, sourcing activities, and supplier consolidation.
  • Maintaining accurate data in information systems (e.g., current delivery dates, item settings, batch sizes, etc.).

Who we are looking for:

  • A positive and ambitious person eager to learn new things and contribute to the success of the whole team.
  • Someone who can communicate in English. Additional European languages are a strong advantage.
  • A university student in fields such as law, economics, supply chain management, engineering, or related disciplines.
  • If you are not a student, we expect previous experience negotiating commercial terms with external suppliers.
  • An independent and proactive personality who can propose solutions to emerging issues.
  • An active driver with good computer skills (MS Office, ERP systems).
