Northrop Grumman is seeking Mission Assurance Engineers. This position will be located on-site at our Aeronautics Systems sector in Melbourne, FL.

The qualified candidate will learn to execute and oversee quality-first technical support, independent of Engineering, through early intervention. Learn and deliver focused efforts in design review, nonconforming material processing, incoming material, production control, product evaluation and reliability, manufacturing, flight operations, research and development as they apply to the mission assurance statement of work.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Learn, develop and deliver malfunction and corrective action reports to hold manufacturing accountable for root cause and corrective action deliverables.
  • Understand and review all necessary product and system documentation to ensure process compliance and requirement needs are met.
  • Work closely with mission assurance team and program partners to recognize and validate flow of program requirements.
  • Study, plan, and develop the required processes to identify potential product performance impacts as early as possible.
  • Support product development engagement through oversight of processes, procedures and standard adherence to ensure that product design continuously meets customer requirements.
  • Participate in product qualification testing and seek guidance when needed.
  • Support program integration testing via test procedure review, test witnessing, troubleshooting and buy off.
  • Execute Mission Assurance functions by learning compliance review of Supplier Data Requirements Lists, Acceptance Test Procedures, Qualification Test Procedures, Supplier Statement of Work, Program Specifications.
  • Assist in audits to identify deficiencies, nonconformances, and negative performance trends and failures.
  • Develop high level organizational skills to support concurrent taskings along with cultivating strong computer skills to achieve a high level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Basic Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications for an Associate Mission Assurance Engineer:

A candidate must meet ALL of the below criteria. The candidate must:

  • Be completing or has completed their Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution by August 2026
  • Be majoring in or having majored in Aerospace Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or other related STEM degree program
  • Be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite) as well as Special Access Program clearance within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs.
  • Interim Secret clearance needed prior to start date

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.00/4.0 or higher
  • Knowledge in Engineering, Manufacturing, Program integration
  • Basic understanding of AS9100 standards
  • Basic insight into Lean Six Sigma and Root Cause Analysis processes
  • Drawing review and modeling tool experience (CAD), such as Siemens NX
  • Active U.S. Government Secret security clearance

Salary Range:

  • Associate Mission Assurance Engineer: $65,800 - $98,800/year
