
The HKUST Department of Economics is seeking to hire a few positions in all fields of economics at any rank (Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor). We are particularly interested in candidates with expertise in Macroeconomics and Applied Microeconomics (Labor, Health, Development, Environmental Economics, etc.). Outstanding candidates in other areas are also encouraged to apply.
Salary is highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience. The university offers a comprehensive fringe benefit package, including medical/dental care, annual leave, and housing benefits, for eligible appointees. A gratuity will be payable upon successful completion of a contract for appointment on contract terms. Teaching may be at the undergraduate, MSc. and Ph.D. levels.

Candidates must receive a Ph.D. by August 2026 and must demonstrate the potential to achieve excellence in both research and teaching at the graduate and undergraduate levels.
