The CNE, often affectionately referred to as The Ex, is Canada’s largest community event and one of the top ten agricultural fairs in North America, attracting approximately 1.6 million visitors annually over the course of its 18-day run. With something for everyone, the CNE offers a wide range of attractions and interactive entertainment experiences including: concerts, midway rides and games, shopping, exhibits, tech and gaming hubs, food and wacky treats!

Farm-Agriculture Adventures
August 2 to August 8, 2026
HorseCapades August 9 to August 20, 2026 A CNE interactive horse program, HorseCapades provides an enjoyable and free introduction to horses. Opportunities are available for kids to learn about how a horse thinks/acts/reacts, pet a horse, guess a horse’s weight, and learn about grooming and shoeing. A popular feature is “HorsePower Live” which is a trick-riding show that takes place in the Horse Palace Ring twice daily. After August 20, elements of HorseCapades will move from the Horse Palace to the Farm in the Better Living Centre. Kids AgVenture August 21 to September 7, 2026
A huge hit at the CNE for the past several years, Kids' AgVenture; a colourful and engaging interactive area, designed for children ages three to ten years. In a journey that takes them through miniature barns, kids get to experience the life of a farm hand.

Responsibilities

  • Directing, supervising, and assisting staff to set up, maintain, and tear down activity stations
  • Ensuring the activity areas are safe for both guests and staff
  • Training staff to effectively demonstrate program activities to children and caregivers
  • Periodically rotating through activity areas to ensure that they are well-supplied, maintained, and presentable
  • Ensuring staff are able to answer basic questions from the public regarding programming, attractions, facilities, and services
  • Identifying and escalating injury or security situations as needed to the appropriate personnel
  • Assigning staff to activity areas and rotating them throughout the day
  • Coordinating staff breaks
  • Assisting staff in their roles and responsibilities during peak periods
  • Receiving and coordinating staff requests regarding days off and shift-switches
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Experience working with and supervising youth is required
  • Minimum Age Requirement: 18 years
  • Experience working with young children in a group setting is preferred
  • Available to work entire duration of the event except for scheduled days off
  • Available to work flexible hours, evenings and weekends
  • Able to attend Mandatory Orientation Session in Mid July

Special Conditions

  • Ability to stand or remain in stationary position for long periods of time
  • Located in a busy area; constant interruptions
  • Must be comfortable working around animals and barnyard smells
  • Ability to engage positively with children and their caregivers
  • Required to dress in appropriate uniform
