We are seeking an experienced Cloud Application Support Engineer to manage, administer, and support critical enterprise applications running on modern cloud-native platforms. This role focuses heavily on application release management on AKS using ArgoCD and SaaS platforms, supporting APIs through Kong Konnect, and managing integrations via Boomi. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in application operations, cloud-native deployment workflows, and DevOps-oriented support models.

This role ensures reliable application operations, smooth release cycles, and proper governance across the application stack. It is key to enabling continuous delivery, improving developer experience, reducing deployment failures, and ensuring high availability of business-critical applications.

Responsibilities:

  • Application Release Management
    • Lead and execute application deployments on Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) using ArgoCD GitOps workflows.
    • Manage release pipelines, validate deployment readiness, coordinate release windows, and ensure proper rollback strategies.
    • Monitor deployment health and proactively resolve issues.
  • Application Administration & Support:
    • Serve as the primary operational owner for applications running on AKS, serverless, PaaS, and hybrid environments.
    • Manage application upgrades, patching, configuration updates, and environment alignment across Dev/QA/UAT/Prod.
    • Troubleshoot application issues end-to-end (Kubernetes, containers, logs, APIs, configs, pipelines, integrations).
  • Kong Konnect Administration:
    • Support API gateway deployments, routing policies, plugins, service onboarding, and troubleshooting via Kong Konnect
    • Partner with application teams to onboard services and ensure API traffic flows securely and efficiently.
  • Boomi Integration Support:
    • Monitor application health using tools such as Azure Monitor, Prometheus, Grafana, App Insights, and ELK/FluentBit.
    • Create and refine dashboards, alerts, and runbooks to ensure rapid incident detection and resolution.
    • Drive continuous improvement for resiliency, performance, and availability.
  • Observability & Reliability:
    • Instrument applications for monitoring, logging, and alerting using tools such as Azure Monitor, Prometheus, and Grafana. Proactively identify and remediate performance bottlenecks.
  • DevOps & Continuous Improvement:
    • Work with development, cloud, automation, and security teams to refine release automation, pipelines, and operational workflows.
    • Contribute to establishing best practices for GitOps, Kubernetes operations, and DevOps-driven support models.
    • Improve repeatability and consistency by implementing runbooks, SOPs, and automation.
  • Documentation & Governance:
    • Maintain accurate documentation for deployments, configurations, operational procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
    • Ensure compliance with enterprise governance, change management, and release management policies.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Azure and/or AWS cloud platforms
  • Experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD tools. GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, Harness, Jenkins
  • Hands-on experience supporting applications on AKS or EKS.
  • Strong experience with ArgoCD GitOps deployments and Kubernetes-based release workflows.
  • Working knowledge of Kong Konnect (API gateway), routes, plugins, upstreams, and service onboarding.
  • Experience supporting or administering Boomi integration flows.
  • Familiarity with cloud services (Azure and/or AWS).
  • Experience with troubleshooting containers, microservices, YAML-based configurations, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Ability to analyze logs, metrics, traces and resolve application issues quickly.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills for working with development and platform teams.

Additional Information

  • Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline or equivalent experience.
  • 5–7+ years in application support, DevOps support, cloud application operations, or release management.
