Job Description


Teachers will utilize a variety of instructional techniques and learning opportunities to enable students to develop competencies and skills which will ensure student success in the assigned subject area and in society.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Associate's degree or higher in a Culinary or Hospitality related area

Skills/Knowledge:

  • Valid appropriate Texas Career & Technical (CTE) Certificate preferred.
  • Experience as a chef.
  • Two year college certificate or equivalent.
  • Must have or qualify to obtain Food Service Manager Certificate.
  • Applicant must be able to specify, select, inventory, install, operate, and maintain all equipment.
  • Must be fully computer literate.
  • Knowledge of CTE programming essential.
  • Repetitive motion and eye strain through extensive utilization of computer hardware and software.
  • Requires standing for extended periods of time and some heavy lifting.
  • Sponsor a CTSO organization.
  • Some after hours and weekend requirements for catering events.

Experience:

  • Three years' full time work experience in the Culinary area

Minimum Teacher Salary
$63,810 (2025/2026 Compensation Plan)

  • Salary determination will be based on verified relevant work experience.
  • Salary will be adjusted to the start date.
