Job Description

21st Century Extended Learning (Afterschool) Site Coordinator

Essential Job Functions:
1. Plan, implement, and coordinate day-to-day operation of the 21st Century program incorporating components of accelerated learning, including enrichment activities, access to math and reading skill-building resources and STEM programming.
2. Make sure staff attendance is monitored.
3. Check, enroll, and upload student attendance and activity documentation via the 21st Century App each day.
4. Cover classes when substitute teachers are not available.
5. Address student discipline issues using WVDE policy 4373.
6. Communicate with parents/ guardians to address student needs and concerns.
7. Actively engaged in the development of project-based and other activities with a special focus on Math, ELA, and STEM.
8. Actively engaged in the development of an end of the summer assessment to measure academic achievement.
9. Ensure facility is cleaned on daily basis.
10. Work with the Director of Transportation to ensure all students transported by bus arrive at their evening bus stop location safely.
11. Work with the Director of Transportation to coordinate bus routes for summer school students.
12. Ensure all students are supervised by creating staff duty schedules/ assignments.
13. Work with the Director of Food service to ensure all students are receiving breakfast and lunch.
14. Work with school personnel to identify and recruit students to the program.
15. Meet regularly with school level administration and county level supervisor regarding planning, implementation, and program evaluation.
17. Coordinate with district personnel and administrators in developing and implementing assessment strategies to identify student needs and develop corresponding program learning modules to support student needs consistent with school improvement plan goals.
18. Implement technology, and training, appropriate to age and ability of participating students.
19. Work collaboratively within the building and throughout the district, to align and partner with existing programs and departments.

Qualifications:
1. Valid WV teaching certificate required
2. Must be a current Lincoln County Schools teacher or administrator
3. Strong Communication Skills (verbal and written).

Terms of Employment:
1. Daily work hours - 3:00pm to 5:45pm - Monday - Thursday only - May stay later if situation arises
2. Pay shall be $35.00 per hour
3. Funding Source- 21st Century Grant
4. Site will be operational at least 100 days. Any days beyond 100 will be based on funding
5. May have one extra preparation day to get ready for program initiation.
6. Expected Start date - September 14, 2026 - Prep Day
7. Expected 1st Day for students - September 15, 2026
8. Will use the Celeritime system to track hours.

Evaluation:
1. Performance in this position will be evaluated by the immediate supervisor and in accordance with WV State Code §18A-2-12, and WV State Board Policy 5310
2. Immediate Supervisor: Building principal or designee; Works collaboratively with Director of Federal Programs/21st Century Director.
