Job Description

We are currently accepting applications for a Special Education Paraprofessionals at Truman Elementary School.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree, or a minimum of 60 college credit hours, or successful completion of the Paraprofessional Assessment through ETS (see information below).
  • At least twenty-one (21) years of age.
  • Demonstrated ability to read, write, understand, and effectively follow oral and written instructions.
  • Experience working with children in a group setting preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Demonstrated interest in supporting youth and their educational growth and well-being.
  • Commitment to assisting the classroom teacher in providing meaningful educational opportunities that support students in reaching their maximum potential.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with members of the learning community, including teachers, parents, students, administrators, and staff, using courtesy, tact, sound judgment, and strong customer service skills.
  • Professional demeanor with dependable attendance, punctuality, flexibility, and appropriate personal presentation.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with teachers and follow instructional direction.
  • Demonstrates professionalism by supporting classroom decisions and maintaining appropriate boundaries unless otherwise directed by the teacher.

Annual Salary Range for the 2026-2027 School Year: $22,695 - $37,809 (dependent upon experience and qualifications)
