Job Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate, and adjust slitting machines according to production specifications.
  • Review work orders to verify required material, dimensions, quantities, and customer requirements.
  • Measure and inspect finished products to ensure compliance with quality standards and tolerances.
  • Load and unload large rolls of rubber matting using forklifts, hoists, or other material handling equipment (as authorized).
  • Monitor machine operation and make adjustments to maintain product quality and minimize waste.
  • Identify and report machine malfunctions, material defects, or quality concerns to supervision or maintenance.
  • Replace blades and perform minor machine adjustments and preventative maintenance as needed.
  • Accurately label, package, and prepare finished products for the next stage of production or shipment.
  • Maintain production records, inventory usage, and quality documentation.
  • Keep the work area clean, organized, and compliant with 5S and housekeeping standards.
  • Follow all safety procedures, including proper use of PPE and lockout/tagout procedures when applicable.
  • Assist in other production areas as needed.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous manufacturing or machine operation experience preferred.
  • Experience operating slitting equipment is a plus but not required.
  • Basic math and measuring skills.
  • Ability to read work orders, production schedules, and measuring devices accurately.
  • Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Forklift certification or ability to become certified preferred.
