The Shipping Associate is responsible for processing and preparing orders for shipment to satisfy the needs of customers.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Performing deliveries in company van to drop orders off.
Use of Customer portals to execute shipments.
Use of the shipping programs to schedule both shipments.
Picks customer orders as requested for shipment, while following customer requirements.
Track outgoing products to help keep an accurate running inventory.
Responsible for ensuring that all inventory for resale as required is identified and traceable from receipt and acceptance through delivery to the customer.
Operating a forklift to load and unload material as needed is a safe manner.
Responsible for reporting any discrepancies to supervisor so they can be investigated.
Maintains organization and cleanliness of the warehouse to promote safety by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
Keeps equipment operational by completing preventive maintenance requirements as needed.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Assist in determining, along with senior management, where improvements are required and recommending corrective action when necessary.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Thorough understanding of shipping policies and procedures.
Will be required to pass a forklift training course.
Must be able to operate a scanner gun.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent time management skills.
Working knowledge of basic computer skills to include Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel.
Must be able to drive a cargo van as needed
Must have valid Driver’s
Education and
Experience:
GED or High School Diploma preferred.
Experience in a manufacturing shipping environment preferred.
Hand scanner gun experience preferred.
Experience utilizing a forklift is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers, feel/reach with hands/arms, and talk to hear.
The employee frequently is required to sit and walk. The employee is occasionally required to bend and stop, push and pull, reach above shoulder level, kneel, squat, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job to include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
